SGA Acquires Student Study Spaces for Midterms Week

posted Mar 2, 2012, 9:19 AM by Sean Worley
The following was a message sent out to all SLU students on Friday, March 2.

Hello Billikens,

As you may know, Pius XII Memorial Library is undergoing a significant renovation, so the space will better serve students' needs. Currently, crews are working on the 4th and 5th floors; next they will move to the 2nd and 3rd floors before finishing on the 1st floor.

SGA has been, and will continue to work with the administration to reduce distractions to students throughout the renovation. Looking ahead to next week's midterm exams and anticipating higher demand for study space, the SGA Academic Affairs Committee has compiled the attached list of places on campus to study other than Pius Library. Additionally, that document lists several rooms in the Busch Student Center that we have reserved particularly for student study space during midterms week.

I would like to thank the Department of Housing and Residence Life and the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, as well as Ms. Donna Bess Myers, Dr. Mona Hicks, and Mr. David Young of Student Development, for their assistance with the compilation of this information.

SGA exists to represent and to serve you, so please don't hesitate to contact us via sga@slu.edu. If you have any questions about the Pius Library renovation, specifically, or any other academic issue, feel free to email me at pgrillot@slu.edu.

Thank you,
Patrick Grillot
SGA Academic VP
